Live audiovisual • arab club music, experimental electronica, breaks
Profoundly political and emancipatory, Deena Abdelwahed's music defies and pushes back the artistic boundaries between techno, deep bass lines and experimental electronica to shape new forms and boldly reimagine post-club Arab music. She returns to transform! this autumn to present her latest album ‘Jbal Rrsas’ - and for the first time in Marseille - in the form of a live audiovisual performance!
She will be joined on stage by multi-instrumentalist Khalil Epi, Niculin Barandun (visuals) and Pantxo Bertin (sound).

After getting her start in Tunis, in a jazz band and then on the local electronic scene, Deena Abdelwahed moved to France in 2016 and signed to the InFiné label. From her acclaimed debut album Khonnar (2018), Deena drew a dark, political and hard-hitting musical identity. In Jbal Rrsas, her second album (2023), she deconstructs and reinvents Tunisian, Arab and electronic music to proclaim the birth of a new creative order.
Her musical explorations are hopeful attempts to recover the elements that make up the diversity of Arab music, drawing inspiration from electronic dance music influenced by Club music and the current avant-garde and experimental scene.
